Welcome to the Morgan Lodge no 9816, part of the United Grand Lodge of England. The lodge was founded in 2006 by Freemasons with a common interest in Morgan Sports Car. Lodge meetings are held in Malvern, Worcestershire, the home of the Morgan Sports Car.
Freemasonry is one of the world’s oldest and largest non-religious, non-political, fraternal and charitable organisations. Its roots lie in the traditions and ceremonies of the medieval stonemasons who built our cathedrals and castles. Modern Freemasonry is about making friends with like minded men from all faiths and backgrounds who follow a moral and ethical approach to life. It is an organisation of men who believe that the worth of a man can be measured . . . not by wealth or by fame, but by his deeds, character and by his love for others.
The Morgan Lodge was consecrated in March 2006. The idea came from founders Richard Smith and Delmund Penny. They met via an Internet chat room where both were talking about Morgans and discovered that they were both Freemasons. They decided to find out whether there were many other Morgan-owning Brethren. They were inundated with Morgan-owning Masons from all over the world. Sadly, Delmund died just a week before the first Installation, when he would have been installed as Master.
